Hi everyone! Thank you for visiting my blog.
I live in Japan with my four cats, and today I’d like to share an important experience about one of them, Futa.
He is usually very energetic, but in the past, he developed urinary stones.
It started when I noticed he was going to the litter box again and again. At first, I didn’t think much of it, but soon he began to meow in a strange, painful way.
Even though he kept trying, he couldn’t urinate.
That’s when I realized something was wrong.
I took him to the veterinary clinic immediately, and he had to be hospitalized.
It was a very stressful time for me. I couldn’t focus on anything else because I was so worried.
After about a week in the hospital, his condition improved and his urinary tract was cleared.

Futa during his hospitalization. It was a very stressful and worrying time, but I’m so glad he recovered.
After Discharge & Diet Change
After he was discharged, we consulted with the veterinarian and switched his food to a special therapeutic diet.
A therapeutic diet is specially designed to support urinary health and help prevent recurrence.
It is more expensive than regular food, but for Futa’s health, it’s absolutely worth it.
He now eats it every day, and thankfully, he seems to enjoy it.
About His Food
Before this happened, he was eating a urinary care diet (Royal Canin Urinary S/O).
However, after leaving the hospital, the vet recommended a slightly different version that also supports stress reduction.
This type of food contains ingredients designed to help cats feel calmer.
Since we have four cats, I believe there may be stress that humans can’t easily notice, so we decided to switch to this option.
One downside is that this type of food is usually only available through veterinary clinics, unlike regular pet store products.
Life with Multiple Cats
Managing meals for multiple cats and choosing the right therapeutic diet can be challenging.
However, seeing all four of my cats healthy and happy is what matters most to me.
That is my greatest happiness.
If this experience can help someone going through a similar situation, I would be very happy.
If you ever notice unusual behavior, such as frequent litter box visits or difficulty urinating, please don’t wait—consult a veterinarian as soon as possible.
Early action can make a big difference.
